Malath Al Arnosi espera abrir su propio centro de cuidado de niños un día
Malath is a substitute teacher at the Al Furqan VPK. She is working on obtaining a DCF child care certificate at the Florida State College of Jacksonville.
En 2014, al Arnosi vino de su nativa Babilonia, Iraq to the United States as a refugee due to the ongoing political environment in Iraq. Malath has two brothers and three sisters and her mother who still live in Iraq. Al Arnosi is married with three children. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. She worked a variety of jobs, including being a Journalist for newspapers and radio, Capacity building with NGOs and local governance training.
Malath initially resettled in Chicago but later moved to Jacksonville, Florida to join the well-developed Arab community as well as the warmer weather. Al Arnosi and her family love the beach and try to go every Sunday.
For the first two years, Malath had a difficult time adjusting to life in the US.
Malath spoke minimal English which was part of the reason she struggled to integrate rather quickly. On the third year living in the U.S, Malath decided that she was going to be herself and do what she felt was best for her; to make new friends.
Malath is a founding member of “One Heart Jax,” an organization that supports refugee women who are textile and visual artists. Fostering economic independence and social integration within the greater Jacksonville. La Florida. Aunque no tiene ninguna formación artística formal, Malath enjoys painting and drawing. She likes learning new art styles and working with handicrafts, decorative items, and fashion.
Malath’s art moves in different genres. She finds that art is a form of healing that creates an environment for reflection, creativity, and trying new things. Through her art as well as her personal story as a former refugee, Malath wants to generate positive awareness of Jacksonville’s refugee community.

En la actualidad, Malath is working on obtaining a DCF child care certificate at the Florida State College of Jacksonville. She is a substitute teacher at the Al Furqan VPK and dreams of having her own childcare facility someday.
