Welcome shirts

Welcome shirt

Buy a shirt to tell refugees and immigrants they are Welcome

We want to share the message Welcome #ThisIsYourHomeToo with all refugees and immigrants.

You can too, by purchasing a shirt from our Welcoming Campaign.

Shirts and tanks cost $24. Kids shirts are also available for $15.

World Refugee Day is June 20th

Send a visual message of welcome to refugees and immigrants. Many refugees and immigrants feel unwelcome in our country. Our goal is to have US-born individuals across the country wearing these shirts out so that newcomers can read, in their native language, messages of welcome. For newcomers to know there are so many who are grateful to have them as part of their communities. Refugees and immigrants: Welcome #ThisIsYourHomeToo!

Shirts are available in eight languages

From some of the languages most commonly spoken by newcomers in the United States:
Arabic | Farsi (Persian) | French | Karen | Nepali | Spanish | Swahili | Vietnamese

In the near future, we hope to add more languages and an option to find the most common languages spoken in your area.

This current series comes in perfect time for Welcoming Week.

Proceeds support USAHello

There are more refugees in the world today than at anytime since World War II. USAHello is a non-profit that uses the power of the internet to help refugees and displaced individuals build new lives in the United States. Our web platform offers free online courses, helps newcomers find resources & local services, and provides community support.

Refugees and immigrants make our communities a better place.

If you want to read more about how the lives of US-born Americans have been touched by refugees, asylees, and immigrants, we encourage you to read our collection of World Refugee Stories. From soldiers to politicians, employers to students, social workers to business people – everyday Americans tell their stories to celebrate the goodness and the courage of the refugees, asylees, and immigrants who make the United States a better place.

Inspiration for this project

This project was inspired by a local project started by Andrew Arehart in Nashville, Tennessee. Andrew held a booth at a local library where he had citizens wear Welcome shirts. For the past several years, USAHello’s outreach materials have focused on welcoming newcomers in their own languages. This year, some of our Refugee Technology and Advisory Council members suggested we do a tshirt project to welcome newcomers in their languages and we immediately thought of Andrew’s original project. With thanks and acknowledgement to Andrew.
