You cannot get your GED® online. You have to take the GED® test at a testing center. The GED® testing website can help you find a GED® test center near you. (You will need to sign in first.)

What is the GED® test?

The GED® test is a test of your knowledge. The name GED® is short for General Education Diploma. Passing the GED® test shows you have the same knowledge and skills as a person who graduated from high school in the USA.

I have a diploma from another country. Should I still get a GED® credential?

If you have a high school diploma, you may or may not need a GED® credential. If you have a college degree from another country, some of the classes and degrees might transfer. You may need proof you finished school to go to college or get a job. Earning your GED® diploma might help you.
