The Opportunity
Join our leadership team at a pivotal time as we implement an ambitious new strategic plan. We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Strategic Initiatives and Impact to drive the execution of key initiatives, oversee vital program areas, and lead a dedicated team. This is an opportunity to shape the future of our programming and make a tangible difference in the lives of the communities we serve.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Impact will be responsible for leading the strategic design, execution, and growth of core programmatic initiatives focused on regional hubs, digital literacy, and community resilience. This role involves translating strategic goals into outcomes-based action plans, managing program operations, ensuring program quality and impact, and providing leadership and development to a team of program staff and contractors.
This person who will be successful in this role is both a leader and a doer; someone with strong people management skills who can think high level and build a strategy, but also roll up their sleeves to handle day-to-day tasks. Because we are a small team, this role requires comfort with switching between high-level planning and hands-on execution across multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of new regional initiatives, including landscape analysis and community assessments, partnership development, and customized regional strategy.
- Drive the strategic expansion of virtual educational content and programs focused on building digital literacy and security, and practical risk mitigation skills within immigrant communities.
- Directly supervise, coach, and manage the performance of key program staff (2) and regional contractors (TBD).
- Ensure the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of programs in your purview, aligning outcomes with strategic goals.
- Oversee the implementation and utilization of program monitoring, evaluation, and assessment frameworks to track progress, measure impact, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Collaborate effectively across teams, working closely with our Director of Content and Communications and Director of Technology to ensure programmatic alignment, integration, and execution.
- Partner with the Executive Director on fundraising efforts, including contributing to proposal development, reporting, funder development, and communications.
- Contribute to periodic organization-wide strategic planning and provide thought leadership on program innovation and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Track record of successfully leading the design, implementation, and growth of complex programs or initiatives, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Proven success in low-structure, self-led roles turning strategy into action, managing budgets, and hitting goals.
- Strong people‑management skills: you’ve hired, coached, and led high‑performing teams.
- Experience in program monitoring, evaluation, learning, and using data to inform program decisions and tell a compelling impact story.
- Excellent collaborator who thrives in a fast‑moving, fully remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience cultivating funder relationships and/or grant writing a plus.
- First-person understanding of the immigrant experience, and/or professional experience working with immigrant communities.
- Prior fundraising or resource generation experience/expertise is a plus.
Our Culture and Benefits
We believe in putting people first, fostering a culture that values well-being, flexibility, and growth. We prioritize professional autonomy, personal growth, and individual and collective well-being.

Join a team where your contributions are highly valued, and your life outside of work is genuinely respected.
