USAHello turns 10!

September marks USAHello’s 10 year anniversary! What started as a small volunteer-led initiative (originally as the Refugee Center Online) is today the largest comprehensive multilingual platform for immigrants of all backgrounds. In the last year alone, 1.5 million people visited our website and over 40,000 students have enrolled in our free online classroom.

A time for welcoming

USAHello is proud to be partnering in three important initiatives that coincide together this week to welcome our newest community members in the USA.

Welcome.us is a new national effort to empower Americans to welcome and support our new Afghan neighbors. While the site is directed to welcoming communities, USAHello is honored to have been selected as the national partner for resources for arriving Afghans. Our team is currently building a soon-to-be-launched Afghan Resource Center with dozens of translated resources to support Afghan evacuees in building a new life in the USA. More coming soon.

Welcoming Week brings together neighbors of all backgrounds to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places in achieving collective prosperity. #BelongingBeginsWithUs

National Partnership For New Americans We’re Ready! Campaign is a collaboration of over 100 cities and 50+ organizations aimed at encouraging the 9 million eligible lawful permanent residents to take steps to naturalize. #Naturalize2Millionby2022

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! We are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month which kicks off September 15th. Did you know that Spanish speakers account for nearly half of all students in our classroom and over a quarter of visitors to our main site?

NEW citizenship video study materials

In honor of Citizenship Day, USAHello is pleased to now offer citizenship test question & answer videos as part of our free study materials. The videos are currently available in Spanish and Arabic with more languages being added this month. The videos offer the text of each question in both English and a translated language, with a voice of a native speaker reading each aloud.

This provides aspiring citizens the benefit of studying in their native language while also hearing it spoken in English, helping build confidence and opportunities for success! The videos complement our existing citizenship resources including our free online citizenship class and popular downloadable PDFs of the test questions & answers in 15 languages used by over 200k people this year.
