Emma Yaaka

Emma Yaaka was born and raised from Uganda and currently serves as a member of the U.S Refugee Advisory Board, Refugee Congress Delegate for Illinois, and Advisor for Sparking Change project under UNHCR for USA. In his day job, Emma provides direct services to refugees and immigrants as the long-term Case Management Supervisor at Heartland Human Care Services in Chicago, IL.

Emma is also the Director of WordOut, a YouTube Channel that bridges the gap between service providers and refugees, informing people of resources/information.

Emma is a dedicated and passionate advocate for local, national and global refugee and immigrant rights. Emma uses his own lives experiences to inspire, motivate, support, and educate his community.
