What is TPS?

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) allows people from certain countries to stay and work in the U.S. if it is not safe for them to return home due to war, disasters, or other emergencies.

Is TPS for Haiti still valid?

Yes. TPS for Haiti is still valid for now.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the government can move forward with ending TPS for Haiti and Syria. Legal groups expect TPS for Haiti to likely end around or after July 27, 2026, unless a court decides something different.

Can I still work with a TPS Haiti EAD?

If you have an EAD based on TPS for Haiti, you should still be authorized to work while your TPS is valid.

USCIS currently lists July 10, 2026, for TPS Haiti work permit extensions. This could change based on court orders or new government guidance. Legal groups say work authorization should not end before TPS ends.
