TPS offers protection to people in the USA who cannot safely go back to their homeland due to conflict, natural disasters or other extraordinary and temporary conditions.

Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) is granted through the President’s power in foreign relations. Under DED, individuals are protected from deportation and can request work authorization.

TPS El Salvador

TPS El Salvador is valid through September 9, 2026, for people who already have it. You can no longer apply or re-register for TPS El Salvador.

TPS Ethiopia

TPS Ethiopia is still valid for now because a court has temporarily paused the termination. Your TPS and work permit remain valid while the court case continues, but this will likely change.

TPS Haiti

TPS Haiti will likely end around July 27, 2026, unless a court decides something different. Your TPS and work permit remain valid for now.

TPS Honduras

TPS Honduras ended on February 9, 2026. You can no longer apply for or renew TPS Honduras.

DED Hong Kong

DED Hong Kong has been extended for 24 months. It is now effective through February 5, 2027. You do not need to apply for DED Hong Kong to receive its benefits.

TPS Lebanon

TPS Lebanon is valid through November 27, 2026, for people who already have it. You can no longer apply or re-register for TPS Lebanon.

DED Liberia

DED Liberia is effective through June 30, 2026. You do not need to apply for DED Liberia to receive benefits.
