Yavuguruwe Mutarama 25, 2026
Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Lebanon ended on January 25, 2026. There are no new announcements at this time. If the U.S. government makes further changes, we will share an update here.

DED Lebanon has ended

Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) is a form of legal protection for people in the United States. DED is for people who cannot go back to their home country because of dangerous situations, including political conflict.

The last day of DED Lebanon was January 25, 2026. As of this date:

  • People from Lebanon with DED will no longer have this protection.
  • Work permits through DED will no longer be valid.

What happens when DED Lebanon expires?

You will now have the same immigration status you had before getting DED. If you do not have another legal immigration status besides DED, you will become undocumented and lose your work authorization. If you stay without legal status, you will risk being detained and deported.
