Temporary protected status for Somalia is set to end on March 17, 2026. A court case is challenging the decision to end TPS, but the end date has not been paused at this time. You can no longer apply for or renew TPS Somalia. Learn what this means and how to prepare.

TPS Somalia is ending

TPS Somalia is ending. The last day of TPS is March 17, 2026. After that date:

  • Work permits through TPS will no longer be valid.
  • People from Somalia with TPS will no longer have this protection.

The decision to end TPS Somalia is currently being challenged in court. The court has not blocked the termination at this time. This could change if a judge issues a new order. We will keep this page updated.
